A Fairytale Wedding

“My friend Patsy’s wedding was a real fairytale event at the beautiful Kensington Roof Gardens, so I really wanted her make-up to look effortlessly perfect,” says Jackie.

Skin
First, I prepped Patsy’s skin with Dermalogica Sheer Tint Moisture, allowing the moisturiser to soak into the skin to provide a perfect base for make-up.
Then, to ensure a lovely dewy finish and for her lovely freckles still to be seen, I applied a sheer base with Givenchy Subli’mine Sculpt Light Foundation.
Finally, I added a little cheek contour with brown and orange shading powders to give the face great shape in the photos, and then finished the skin with a little highlighter over the cheekbone and up to the temples.

Eyes
I really wanted to exaggerate and emphasise Patsy’s beautiful eyes, so I began by applying MAC Eye Kohl in smolder around the inner and outer lash line. I then used a soft brush to blend this line into the lashes and winged it out and into the socket line.
Next, I used Cosmetics à la Carte Eye Velvet in a gold shade all over the eyelid. This gave me a good cream base on which to add powder shadows, while providing extra staying power and depth of colour, essential for a long, warm day.
I then applied gold shimmer over the lids and brow bone, using brown shadow for the socket line and around the lash line to set the kohl pencil.
Then I applied lashings of waterproof mascara making the eyes tearproof and Eylure Occasion Wear strip lashes for added drama.
To complete the eyes, Patsy’s eyebrows were groomed with Elizabeth Arden Dual Perfection Brow Shaper applied with an angled brush.

Lips
Patsy’s lips were outlined and filled in with a nude shade of MAC Lip Pencil for definition and staying power. The final touch was the lovely, sparkly MAC Superglass in Sugar Overload.

“It was a perfect day, thanks Patsy.”
