During the fifth series of X Factor last year, Alexandra Burke began her rise to the top and since her glamorous makeover she has become one of Britain’s biggest pop divas.
To celebrate Alexandra’s second UK number one with Bad Boys (featuring Flo-Rida), which sold a whopping 185,000 copies in one week, as X Factor’s Chief Make-Up Artist, Jackie is giving her tips on how you can recreate Alexandra’s unforgettable look from the night she won the X Factor 2008…
Get the Skin
Apply a light moisturiser or primer such as Avon MagiX Face Perfector.
Next, apply foundation such as Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick in Walnut, using a brush for a professional flawless finish.
Lighten down the centre of the nose, sides of the nose and under eye area with Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer in Almond. Blend together.
Apply a translucent colourless powder, like Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder.
Give cheeks some contour with MAC Contour Shader in Shadowy.
You can give the apples of the cheeks a glow with Avon Arabian Glow Bronzing Pearls.
Get the Eyes
Line the inside of the eye with MAC Eye Kohl in Smolder.
Using a small soft brush use MAC Fluidline gel eyeliner in Blacktrack around the lash line top and bottom and create a winged out shape.
Blend a soft brown powder into the socket line and wing out and into the black base.
Brush your brows up with a lash brush or use an old toothbrush. Fill in and draw a great shape using Elizabeth Arden Dual Perfection Brow Shaper.
Apply lots of Avon Spectralash Mascara and put a strip of false lashes on, we used Eylure False Lashes, try the Girls Aloud collection.
Then, do a final sweep of black liquid liner, try the Loreal Superliner Carbon Gloss.
Get the Lips
Kept very natural, but very well conditioned with Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream.
We will be revealing how to recreate the looks Jackie has given this year’s X Factor contestants soon, and let us know if there’s a particular look you want Jackie to help you create at home.
